Our school, although still very much a village school, has grown and continues to grow.  It is natural that some traditions and established routines are maintained whilst others are developed to cope with the changing demands of education, society and the local community.
We continue to have strong relationships with parents and the local community, some of whom attended Stanbridge Lower School themselves or whose children did.  A strength of our school is the support of many teams, groups and individual members of the local community who all work and give their time to improve opportunities and facilities at Stanbridge Lower School.  With the children at the centre of every decision made, this continues to have a positive impact on teaching and learning.  This school envelops all of these people, empowering and involving them in the future development of our school

Developments to the school building over the last few years and plans to extend the school building have continued to create an exciting and stimulating environment for the children's learning. The Foundation Stage now has access to a contained but productive outside play area in two locations and this will be developed further through our new build.

The school is driven by our School Development Plan which impacts on standards, attainments and the learning environment, this making Stanbridge a place where every child matters and where children can fulfil and build on both their potential and successes.

Curriculum developments have continued in line with the national developments and the needs of the children at Stanbridge.  Giving all children equal access to a balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum and recognizing the cultural needs of our community is a positive part of our ethos.
In addition to this Stanbridge has placed high priority on developing “good citizens” and this will be continued to be encouraged through social, spiritual, physical and moral developments and through our Code of Conduct.  Developing an inclusive education for all children to succeed in continues to be developed and enhanced.

Extra-curricular activities have developed and continue to do so.  A residential weekend visit for Year 4 pupils is in place for 2007 and plans to introduce clubs to develop the needs of our gifted and talented children are in place.  A range of after-school clubs has been organized in a way which pays respect to the needs of the pupils and to the workload of the staff.

The success of our village school and the caring, friendly and productive ethos lies with the ability of the staff, governors, school council and the P.T.F.A working together collaboratively for the good of our school.  They are to be congratulated for the professional way in which they continue to approach their work, giving freely of their time for the benefit of their pupils and of the whole school.
